A NATIVE OF QUINCY,  MASSACHUSETTS, Paul owned and managed Paul Baldassini Graphic Design in Boston’s Back Bay. For over 25 years, his creative team provided graphic design and advertising services to a diverse range of clients including corporate, private and non-profit organizations.

As a professional fine artist, graphic artist, designer, photographer and teacher, Paul Baldassini has been working with graphic images for over 40 years. Retouching photographs since the late 1970s, Paul used the traditional photo retouching tools — airbrush, photo-grays and photo retouching colors — long before the advent of digital technology. In 1987, his Back Bay graphic design studio was one of the first to embrace and utilize the incipient digital publishing technology.

As both owner and artist, Paul evaluates every photograph that comes into his studio to ensure a quality restoration and customer satisfaction. He knows that computers and technology are not all it takes to faithfully  restore photographs, so he also relies on his background in art history and research skills to get the job done. In this way, over the years Paul has skillfully and carefully repaired, restored, retouched and/or edited more than 50,000 damaged antique or new photographs since 1990. Paul can resurrect almost any damaged photo, while significantly improving unnoticed, essential or compromised detail inherent in the original image. Paul’s retouching skills and sensitivity to producing a natural look that does not appear overworked are unsurpassed. He is in constant demand for his digital image editing image expertise on images requiring color correction, tonal balance adjustments, hand-coloring, compositing, and/or any other restoration, retouching and image editing as necessary and specifically requested by the client.

Paul, his wife and daughter reside in Middletown, Connecticut. In addition to photo restoration, Paul is also a professional fine artist whose large format floral and garden oil paintings are sought after by collectors throughout the United States.
